How a repair visit works
- Send a request. Tell us the appliance, the brand, the model number and the symptom. We reply with a visit window.
- Diagnosis at home. The technician tests the appliance, finds the failed part and gives you the price first.
- Repair. Common parts travel on the van. Anything special is ordered and fitted on a second, short visit.
- Test run. The appliance runs a full cycle before the job is closed, and you get a written summary of what was done.
Repair or replace?
A fair rule of thumb: if the appliance is past half its expected life and the repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new one, replacing it usually makes more sense. Below that line, repair is almost always the better value, and it keeps a working machine out of the landfill.
Typical lifespans are roughly ten to thirteen years for refrigerators, washers and dryers, nine to twelve for dishwashers, and thirteen to fifteen for ranges. If a repair doesn’t make sense, the technician will say so before charging for anything beyond the diagnosis.
